A Place For All Seasons

L'Agneau has all the comforts and amenities to make your stay relaxing and peaceful, but if we can tempt you away from the pool and terrace, the region has many things to offer.

The region is  renowned for having one of the most pleasant climates in France along with the French Riviera. Winters are really mild and thanks to the oceanic climate, summers are hot but not muggy!

In fact we boast 2,400 hours of sunshine a year!

May, June and September are beautiful times of year to visit the region. The weather is almost always warm and sometimes as hot as high summer, although it is slightly more changeable so the chance of rain is slightly higher. It is very rare and unfortunate for a holiday to be ruined by rain in these months, although spring/autumn showers may occur.

The roads are quieter and the attractions easier to visit, and most if not all restaurants will be open.

In the spring, especially, the countryside is more lush and the scenery even more beautiful, since the daylight is slightly less harsh than in the summer.

A perfect time for walking and cycling in the Dordogne, since the summer can be rather hot for these activities. A perfect time to visit some of the towns and villages that get especially busy in the mid summer.

Angouleme is a cosmopolitan city with plenty to do all year round, so you really are not limited. From the vintage car festival in early Autumn to Christmas fairs to the world renowned comic book festival in early Spring, there is always plenty going on.

Of course, if you fancy spending some time cycling or fishing, there are plenty of routes, rivers and nearby lakes stocked with monster carp to keep you busy. Le Tour ended a stage in Angouleme a few years ago and you will always see plenty of cycling enthusiasts in the lanes and roads around the area.
